Gene Bruner

DJ

Though I majored in English, the bulk of my college education took place in my dorm room, hanging out with friends listening to music and reading album liner notes. And though my music influences cover a wide spectrum, I must credit my Baby Booming brothers and sister for filling the house with the greatest music ever produced. Johnny loved the Stones, Beach Boys, Animals and Doors. He also introduced me to Sergio Mendez and Stan Getz. Freddy knew the best dance steps, primarily because of his deep rooted love of Soul Music: Motown, Otis Redding, James Brown, and Aretha Franklin. Plus, his passion for Elvis, Country Music, as well as Beethoven and Tchaikovsky, gave me permission to immerse into all music. And Peggy held my hand through the 60’s and 70’s as a devoted Beatles(especially George), Neil Diamond, Cat Stevens, and Beach Music fan. If she had it playing on the car radio, it meant it was good. I am constantly reminded how important they were in my life as I grew up- trying to figure things out, looking for role models, and discerning the secret sauce that made a song stand out . To play their favorite songs, at this stage of life, has been truly comforting- and fun! Windy radio allows me to be back home, crowding around the hi-fi, and living my childhood all over again.

Caroline Sullivan

Let's Talk Dogs

Caroline retired to the beautiful Northern Neck area in 2021. She's had dogs most of her life and loves learning everything she can about them! When she first went to college, she majored in music education. But, that wasn't meant to be, although she's kept her love of music and began ballroom dancing as her midlife crisis hobby. It took Caroline three days after retirement to decide she needed to do something, so she opened Barkley's Boutique - a shop selling a variety of quality items for dogs and people who love them. Combining her love of dogs, performing and desire to teach, she was excited to begin her new venture on radio, hosting ``Let's Talk Dogs!`` on WINDY 103.9 fm.

Rockin' Doc

DJ

The Rockin’ Doc Show, heard Sunday afternoons from 5 -6 PM is a presentation of the greatest of 50’s 60’s and 70’s hits for enjoyment of all ages who appreciate the superb music of those years. Featuring individual artists, male and female, rock groups, instrumental favorites along with softer love songs as well as novelty fun renditions. Early 50’s sounds during transition into the rock era are also featured; bringing back memories for many listeners . I returned to the airwaves after 44 1/2 years of the medical practice of Urology in Petersburg, Va; I developed an initial fascination with radio in high school with a “teenage Viewpont” program in Doylestown , Pennsylvania where I grew up. I loved listening to great DJ’s on WIBG in Philadelphia, WABC from New York and WAEB from Allentown PA. These were the days when top 40 music and news AM radio was “king”. At night, distant stations like WKBW in Buffalo NY could be heard. In college, I had a rock show on WJHU, the radio voice of Johns Hopkins, “Bad Al Bigley” was my handle; in Medical School at UVA I had relief from studies with a Sunday show from noon to “ sign off” on daytime #1 rated Top 40 station, WELK in Charlottesville VA as “Mrs. Bigley’s Favorite Son” with all the super hits from the 60’s. My fun with radio broadcasting continued while stationed at US Naval Hospital Guam 1969-71 , with news reporting and a Friday night rock show on KUAM “where America’s day begins”.After retirement from medical practice, last year I discovered WWND 103.9 and am now oh so happy to be “Back on the scene with the record machine”!

Ace Ministries - Rev. Oestreich

I was born in Illinois. When I got out of the Marine Corp in 1970, I moved to Virginia. I joined the United Secret Service Uniform Division, Retired, in 1990. In 1974, I started a construction business in Stafford County. In 1994, GOD took my life over, and, in 1999, my wife and I moved to White Stone. I felt that GOD wanted me to go into the ministry, but I didn't feel like I was qualified. In 2001, I was in church and the Holy Ghost came to me. In 2002, I was licensed and ordained. I am very humbled by HOD's ministry.
I have learned that, if GOD wants me at a place, I will go.
